Pay Local and National Bills on ChoicePay® Bill Payment Kiosks in Select QuikTrip® Stores
ChoicePay and QuikTrip partner to provide consumers with convenient Tulsa locations to pay bills with cash on self-service kiosks
Tulsa, OK, January 25, 2008 – Two Tulsa-based businesses, ChoicePay, an electronic bill payment solutions provider, and QuikTrip Corporation, a regional gasoline, food and convenience retailer, have initiated a pilot program to provide the one-stop convenience of paying multiple bills using ChoicePay® bill payment kiosks at two QuikTrip® convenience stores.
During the pilot period that began in November, QuikTrip customers can pay local billers such as Oklahoma Natural Gas (ONG), American Electric Power (AEP), City of Tulsa, and MidContinent Insurance. In addition, payments can be made to nationally-recognized billers including Cricket®, Dish Network®, DIRECTV®, T-Mobile®, US Cellular® and Sprint Nextel® at two convenient Tulsa locations, 31st & Sheridan and 21st & 129th Street.
ChoicePay was the first electronic payments provider to offer the ability to pay multiple billers at a single self-service kiosk. In addition to QuikTrip stores, the ChoicePay® Kiosk Network in Tulsa includes seven Reasor’s locations and a kiosk at the City of Tulsa headquarters. Future plans include adding additional QuikTrip Tulsa locations as well as evaluating the opportunity to expand into more QuikTrip territories in 2008.
“QuikTrip is committed to offering an enjoyable experience for their customers,” said Greg Adelson, President, ChoicePay, Inc. “They partnered with ChoicePay in part because we offer a fast and easy-to-use bill payment solution.”
The payment process is simple and fast. A typical transaction takes less than two minutes and is generally processed in real-time (same day) for most billers. Bill payers touch the screen to select English or Spanish then proceed to make the bill payment. The customer receives a receipt with a payment ID number for proof of payment. This number can be relayed to the biller by phone in the event of a late payment or service cut-off situation. If the customer has a payment question, a bi-lingual, toll-free customer service number is provided by ChoicePay. A convenience fee is charged for each payment which varies, depending on the biller selected. The customer is informed of the fee amount and total payment amount prior to completing the payment.
“The opportunity to partner with a leading convenience store chain that happens to be based in Tulsa is certainly a plus for us while also bringing a benefit to the people in the community,” said Adelson. “Cash-preferred Tulsans have several convenient locations, some open 24/7/365, to pay utilities, satellite television, cell phone, insurance, etc. with the support of friendly service and easy to use technology. We look forward to expanding our partnership and the number of locations in 2008 and beyond.”
