Announcing Bob Kirk, New President, CEO and Board Member of ChoicePay
Tulsa, OK, Sept. 10, 2008 – ChoicePay, Inc., a leading ePayments technology provider, is pleased to announce its selection of Bob Kirk as President and CEO. He was also elected to the ChoicePay Board of Directors. Kirk has nearly thirty years of experience in bank operations, marketing, and consulting, and most recently served as the President and CEO of VICOR, Inc., a San Francisco based complex payments software company. Kirk successfully ran VICOR for almost nine years, sold the company to Metavante in 2006, and will now use his industry and business experience to lead ChoicePay.
Kirk’s appointment comes at an exciting time for ChoicePay as the company gains momentum in the marketplace with its bank and remittance processing reseller offerings. Kirk’s career has centered on interactions with financial institutions and the payments environment. His years of experience and extensive network of contacts will prove valuable as ChoicePay continues to sell services into this space.
As the President and CEO of VICOR, Kirk oversaw the transformation of the company from its consulting and systems integration roots into a full fledged products company. Prior to VICOR, Kirk was the President of Enterprise Consulting, a Plano, Texas firm specializing in the payments industry. He also worked at BancTec, Inc. as Vice President of Marketing, responsible for product management of its check and remittance products. Kirk began his professional career at Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh, where he was responsible for building and leading the bank’s nationwide lockbox network.
“I am very excited to join the ChoicePay team. ChoicePay has used its knowledge of the remittance processing environment to develop capabilities and products that offer a perfect complement to processors of paper based payments,” said Kirk. “I look forward to further enhancing ChoicePay’s reputation as a nimble and progressive provider of electronic payment services to financial institutions, processors, and biller direct clients.”
Kirk replaces Greg Adelson, who served as President of ChoicePay for three years. Adelson is leaving ChoicePay to become the Chief Revenue Officer at Regulus, a client and strategic partner of ChoicePay. In his new capacity, Adelson will lead the sales and account management teams in pursuit of aggressive revenue growth, which includes the white-labeled ePayments solution provided by ChoicePay.
During his tenure at ChoicePay, Adelson is credited with leading the team through the replacement of ChoicePay’s legacy architecture with an advanced infrastructure; implementation of a disaster recovery site; and the development and introduction of new products and services. These initiatives have elevated the ChoicePay brand within the industry and positioned the company for future success, including the e-Payments solution utilized by Regulus. He will remain at ChoicePay until the end of September to ensure a seamless transition.
“Greg has had great passion and energy about the direction of ChoicePay during a time when that was needed. His experience and optimism will be missed,” said Mike Beltz, Vice-Chairman of the ChoicePay Board of Directors. “I believe that like Greg, Bob has great passion about ChoicePay’s products. His experience in business and the payment processing industry makes him the perfect candidate to take over the leadership reigns at ChoicePay. With a software as a service background and strong track record for delivering results, Kirk has the expertise to propel ChoicePay forward in the ePayments space.”
